November 28 – December 2

This is a regular, five day week of school.   Please see the November 28-December 2 schedule for a detailed schedule of events pertaining to our class.    Christmas program parts will be assigned this week.   Remember, if your family will be leaving for Christmas vacation on or before December 16, please email me so that your child is not assigned a speaking part.

A school wide World Vision Penny Drive will be held all this week.   Students have been encouraged to donate part of their allowance or do extra jobs to earn money around home.    The money raised will be used to help buy needed animals, clothing, school supplies or other basic necessities for people around the world in developing countries.  Please encourage your child to donate some of their own money to this worthy cause.

Christmas Program Practice Has Started

Today was our very first Christmas program practice.   The fresh snow certainly helped both faculty and students to feel like Christmas is coming soon and encouraged eveyone to sing their best during practice time.

In just three short weeks, on Friday, December 16,  the elementary students will be presenting our Christmas program.   This year, we will be performing The Signs of Christmas.    This beautiful musical includes a speaking part for every child in the elementary.   Parts will be assigned next week.   If you will be leaving early for Christmas vacation and your child will miss the program, please email me your intention so we can make a final decision regarding roll assignments.

Dress code for this program will be dressy chapel clothes.   I know many of the girls have special Christmas dresses and the boys have handsome suits that would look great as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior.

Please save the date of Friday, December 16 for an evening of fun and fellowship, as we take this time to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas.

There will be a hot lunch option on Wednesday.    Pizza must be ordered and paid for on Tuesday, if you wish your child to participate in this option.   Cost is $2 per slice.

This Wednesday, November 23, we will be visiting the Confederation Centre Children’s Library.   Students will have an opportunity to check out library books if they have their own provincial library card.   Also, every student will receive a free book called The Gift to keep for their own reading pleasure.   Drivers are still needed.  We have plenty of supervision, but need help in the tranportation department.   If you are able to drive, but not supervise, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Saturday, November 26, will be our school’s annual pancake breakfast and silent auction.   Breakfast is $5 per person or $15 per family.   Come and enjoy a time of fellowship around the breakfast table and then find some great Christmas gifts at our auction.

First Report Cards for 2011/2012

Today is report card day.   Your child has their report card safely in the conversation pocket of their agenda.   The report card is yours to keep.   Please sign and return the bright orange communication form in the envelope at your earliest convenience.
