Christmas Party News

We will be having our annual class Christmas party on Friday, December 21. To begin, students will be enjoying a small craft and then we will be participating in some outdoor activities. Please ensure that your child is dressed properly for the weather. We will then be coming inside to decorate gingerbread houses. As in years past, I will provide the houses as part of my Christmas present to the children. Each child is asked to bring $4 to school by Tuessday, December 18 to help pay for the candy to decorate the houses.

gingerbreadhouse2008[1]After we finish decorating our gingerbread houses, we will then be eating treats provided by some of our students. Food suggestions include: cookies, cupcakes, chips, clementines or other finger foods. If you can help in this area please respond in the comments section below this post. I would ask that each child bring his own drink. Water is highly recommended as the children are usually very thirsty after decorating the gingerbread houses.

Due to the fragile nature of your child’s masterpiece, I would appreciate each child being picked up at our classroom door between 11:45am and noon, as this is a half day of school. Thanks for your cooperation. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

December 10-14 Schedule

Thank you to all the parents who helped drive and supervise at the matinee production of The Wizard of Oz.   The students enjoyed the experience and are eagerly awaiting their opportunity to shine on stage next Friday, December 14, as we present our Christmas program called Joyland.

Regular school work will continue this week.   Please take a couple of minutes to read, print and post our classroom schedule: December 10-14

December 3-7 Schedule

It’s hard to believe that in a little under two weeks, the elementary students will be presenting their Christmas program (Friday, December 14 at 1:30pm and 6:30pm).   With the chillier temperatures these days, not only are the children anticipating Christmas, but also the first significant snowfall.

With the ck1651068[1]hillier temperatures, please ensure that your child is dressed warmly for outdoor play.   Winter coats, snowpants, boots, hats, gloves, mitts and scarves are essential to keeping warm on our very windy hill.   If the temperature improves throughout the day, I will help the children make good decisions about how much of their outer clothing to wear, but if they do not come dressed appropriately, I simply do not have extra clothing to loan them.

Please read, print and post our weekly schedule: December 3-7
