Hello Parents,
I hope you all enjoyed the sunshine the last couple of days. It’s great to see some of that snow melting away in the sun. Praying that we don’t miss any more time this year. I am very proud of my students for how well they settled back into the routine of the classroom last week after such a long break. Grade one and two have been really working hard during our class time. You should be proud of your child!
On Thursday we welcomed Jasmine to our class! Jasmine was with us on Thursday and Friday and has settled in well to the routines of our class. Jasmine is in grade one and will be working through our ESL program with Mrs. Huizing. Please encourage your child to continue to make her feel welcome in our class and at GCS.
This week’s tests:
Tuesday March 31st — Phonics Test
Wednesday April 1st – Math test
Thursday April 2nd — Spelling Test. (List # 16 grade one, List # 19 Grade two)
Please ensure that students are completing their spelling homework each night. Spelling words should be written in their blue spelling scribbler each night with the date written on the top of the page. If your child chooses to practice their spelling words in another way, please record in your child’s scribbler the way they practised them, along with your signature. Spelling scribblers should be passed into the bins on top of the microwave each morning so I can check them.
