April 20th – 24th

Hello Parents,

I hope you all enjoyed another beautiful weekend.  It was great to meet with all those who came out to parent teacher interviews on Thursday and Friday.

This coming week is the first week of our Family fitness weeks.  Check out the information below for details on the event.

Family Fitness Weeks:

Mrs. Laird and her Leadership class have prepared 2 fun-filled weeks of events, challenges, and activities that are sure to encourage students to get in shape and celebrate the importance of a healthy lifestyle.  Students will participate in daily “Stop, Drop & Exercise” activities,  compete in an elementary “step challenge” using pedometers,  visit a variety of fitness stations, and enjoy the fun of completing a unique obstacle course. Students will also shake things up with a Zumba class.  There are lots of great prizes to be won throughout the 2 week event, but that requires a bit more effort.  Check out the following two challenges that will involve you too, Mom & Dad!

Family Fitness Challenge- “Be Fit At Home”:  Students received a check-list on Friday to take home (Check your child’s agenda).  Throughout the course of the week, students and their families are asked to tally their scores, to reflect their healthy living habits.  Students are required to return their sheet by Friday morning, for each of the next two weeks.  Classes with 90% participation will earn a reward for the class.

Fitness Tip Of The Day:  Each day, for the next two weeks, students will have the opportunity to win prizes, if they are able to recite the fitness tip for that particular day.  So here is the list of tips for each day.  Each day in class I will write the tip on the board and will take a couple minutes to go over it each day in class.
