This coming week will look a little different for GCS students. This week all classes will be writing the Canadian Achievement Tests. For grade one and two, we will be writing a different part of the test each morning before lunch time. The tests cover reading comprehension, vocabulary, spelling and Math skills.
There will be no spelling test this week as we will be writing the CAT’s however, students will be expected to practice their spelling list each night. We will write the test next week April 29th. (List # 22 grade one, List # 25 for grade two)
Don’t forget to register your child for the next school year. To ensure your child’s seat for the 2016-17 year, please register your child by paying the annual $200 re-enrollment fee and filling out the registration form by April 30th. With demand for classroom spaces increasing, it is more important than ever to reserve your child’s place.
• On or before April 30: $200/family
• May 1 – June 30: $250/family
• After June 30: $350/family
There will be an introductory lacrosse lesson for any interested grade 1-6 students.

This year grade one and two will travel to the Moncton Zoo on May 13th. Grade ten will also accompany us and will be helping the grade one and two students as they tour around the zoo. We will be looking for a couple of parent volunteers to come along with us. If you are interested in coming, please let me know. More information will be posted later this week regarding this event.

The Storm Basketball team came to visit us on Monday. It was a blessing to have them come in again. Our cheer girls did a wonderful job at the game on Friday night. We are so proud of all of them! Here are a few pictures:
