June 20th -24th

Hello Parents,

Well, we have made it to the last week of school.  The year has just flown by.   Here is a run down of what will happen this week.

Monday:

Monday will be a regular day.  In the afternoon we will be practising for school closing.

Tuesday — Vandenburg Farm:

On Tuesday we will be travelling to the Vandenburg farm for our end of year class trip.  We will be leaving the school at 9:45 to travel to the farm for 10:00am.  I am still in need of a few items for the BBQ. If you have not already signed up to bring an item please email me to let me know which item you would like to bring.

2 packages of hotdogs

2 packages of hotdog buns

2 packs of juice boxes

1 pack of granola bars

Wednesday:

Wednesday will be a clean up day in the classroom.  Students will be taking home all their workbooks and extra things that are in the classroom.  Not everything will fit in their backpacks.  It would be helpful if you could send along an extra bag with your child so they can carry everything home with them.

Thursday – Sand Spit day:

Thursday, June 23th will be our annual GCS Sandspit day! The ride bracelets this year will be $12.50 per person and allow for all rides except the gokarts; all parents are required to pay for their own bracelets. When purchasing bracelets, let the cashier know you are with the GCS group. Hours of operation are from 9:30am-3:30pm. This is a great opportunity for you to come and enjoy your children and the fellowship of other parents. You are reminded that there is no supervision by GCS staff and each parent is responsible for either attending with their children or making provision for their children to be cared for.

Friday — School closing  1/2 Day

On Friday everyone is invited to join us for our school closing ceremony which will begin at 9:30am.  Students should arrive to school by 9:00 to get ready for the ceremony at 9:30.   When the ceremony is over students will return to their classrooms to pick up their report cards and will be dismissed.   If your child is not able to attend on Friday, their report card will be mailed to them.  No reports will be given out until after school closing on Friday.

Here are a few pictures from the events over the last week. On Thursday we travelled to Geneva Villa.  I was so proud of how well each student interacted with and served the seniors at the Villa.  They truly were showing God’s love to these people.

On Friday we finished off our week with a Teddy Bear picnic.
