Enjoy the photos of your children as they designed their very own gingerbread houses.   The smiles on the faces testify to the wonderful party we had on Tuesday morning.

Thank you for all the beautiful Christmas gifts.   Everything was lovely.    Please look for my first new year’s post in early January.   Remember our first day of classes for 2012 will be Tuesday, January 3.   Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Christmas Party Food Update

The following items have been donated for our Christmas party:

Anna – grapes and clementines

Christine – chips and popcorn

Simon – chips

Tenny – cookies

Joshua – party mix

Avelyn – chips

Stephanie – clementines

Thank you for your generous support at this busy time of year.   If anyone else would like to contribute food, we could use cookies or cupcakes.   Merry Christmas.

December 19-20 Schedule

The last two days of school before Christmas holidays begin have arrived.   Please note the following:

Monday, December 19 – Christmas Eve at school, wear pajamas and be prepared to play outside at recess times

Tuesday, December 20 – Christmas Party, school closing at noon

We will be playing outside.   Please ensure your child is dressed for the weather.   When we come inside, we will be decorating gingerbread houses.     This will be the highlight of the party.   I will try to post some pictures over the holidays.

After we finish decorating our gingerbread houses, we will then be eating treats provided by some of our students.  Food suggestions include: cookies, cupcakes, chips, clementines or other finger foodsIf you can help in this area please email me or reply to this blog post.   Presently, we have no treats for our party.   I would ask that each child bring his own drink.  Water is highly recommended as the children are usually very thirsty after decorating the gingerbread houses.

Due to the fragile nature of your child’s masterpiece, I would appreciate each child being picked up at our classroom door between 11:45am and noon, as this is a half day of school.  Thanks for your cooperation.  Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Christmas Party News

We will be having our annual class Christmas party on Tuesday, December 20.  To begin, students will be enjoying some outdoor activities.  Please ensure that your child is dressed properly for the weather.

We will then be coming inside to decorate gingerbread houses.  As in years past, I will provide the houses as part of my Christmas present to the children.  Each child is asked to bring $3 to school by Wednesday, December 14 to help pay for the candy to decorate the houses.

After we finish decorating our gingerbread houses, we will then be eating treats provided by some of our students.  Food suggestions include: cookies, cupcakes, chips, clementines or other finger foods.  If you can help in this area please email me.   I would ask that each child bring his own drink.  Water is highly recommended as the children are usually very thirsty after decorating the gingerbread houses.

This is a regular, five day week of school.   Please see the December 5-9 schedule for details pertaining to our class.

Christmas program practice will continue next week.   Speaking parts were assigned on Thursday of this week.   Please take a few minutes to help your child memorize his/her part.   It has been stapled inside the front cover of your child’s agenda for safe keeping.    We will be presenting The Signs of Christmas, our Christmas program, for the residents of the Prince Edward Home on Thursday, December 15 at 10:30am.   Drivers will be needed.   Please help us spread a little Christmas joy.
