June 15th – 19th

Hello Parents,

Well, we have made it to the last week on school.  It has been a great year.  Thank you to all for your support and prayers throughout the year.

On Monday we will have an outing to Brackley Commons park.  Thank you for those who signed up to bring something along for the BBQ.  Please send it with your child on Monday morning.   Also, thank you to those who signed up to drive for this event.  We have all the drives we need for Monday.   If you have not signed up to bring something already please email me at jbarton@gracechristainschool.ca with what you can bring.  I am still in need of one 12 pack of Juice boxes and one pack of hotdog buns.

Tuesday will be a regular day full of review and finishing up some work.

Open Elementary Chapel – Wednesday June 17th

Family Fun day — Thursday June 18th

Families of our school have been given the opportunity to visit Sandspit for the day at a reduced rate.  The park opens at 10:00 am.  This is not an official school event, and teachers are will not be responsible for their students, however, all school families are welcome to bring and supervise their own children.  There are activities and rides for children young and old, so pack a picnic, grab the sunscreen, and enjoy some family time as we finish out a fantastic school year. When purchasing bracelets, let the cashier know you are with the GCS group.

School Closing — Friday June 19th

We are hopeful you can join us in the church sanctuary around 9 am as we celebrate our school year with songs, awards, special presentations, and an incredible slideshow of photos.  Remember this is a very short day for students, so for those needing to prepare for childcare, heads up!  Students will return to their classrooms following this celebration service to obtain their final report card, and will be dismissed for the day.  Parents can expect to pick their children up by 11:00 AM.

Report Cards:

Report cards will be given out after the school closing on Friday.  If your child is not attending on Friday then the report cards will be mailed to you.  We cannot give out report cards early.

We had a lovely trip to the fire hall and Brianna’s house on Thursday.  Thank you so much Lori and Denis for taking the time to host us.   Students had a blast sitting in the fire truck, trying on some fire gear as well as getting a chance to spray the water hose.   After the fire hall we had a BBQ and time to play at Brianna’s house.   Here are a few shots from the day.
